Full Throttle Welcomes its Newest Members

Tim Theodore wrapped up his second consequentive championship in the tough Senior class last year. Tim started racing in District 38 races in 2006 as a Senior, and finished that year as an expert in tenth place. Since then, he's put in a lot of time finishing in the top 20 of the class, then put together two solid, consistent seasons back to back. He's a tough competitor, a true sportsman, and well regarded by the guys he rides with.
Cory Hemphill joined in November, and rode his first race at the Christmas Classic on Renee Plunkett's quad. One of the conditons for borrowing the quad was that he had to wear Dezert Bunny style pigtails. Apparently, Cory's a pretty good sport.
Josh Maxwell and his dad, Mike joined Full Throttle at the Chicken Trax race in 2012. Josh races in the 125 Class, and will almost certainly win the #2 plate this year. Many will remember the 2010 Nationals, when he broke his femur shortly after the start, and then was at risk of drowning in a flooded wash. He's having a much better year this time around.
Gabriel Rascon finished 5th in the competitive Quad class last year. He started running D38 ATV races in '08, and took the #1 plate home with him in '09. He hasn't been able to compete very much this year, but he's looking to change that.
Craig Estrada is another up and coming Vet Class rider. Classified as a Novice, he's the current holder of the number 6v plate in his class. Smooth and consistent, he also won the #6 plate in '10 and in '09, his first year in the class. Prior to that, he had ridden a few races in 2008 in the Open Novice division.
Jared Spencer, also a Vet Novice when he joined the club in 2011 at the Heartbreaker GP. New to the Vet class last year, he's already advanced to Amateur and won the #5 plate in the class.
Jake Oswald, Open class #643, was the winner of the Heartbreaker GP Open Class, and the Overall Winner in 2010's Chicken Trax Desert Scrambles. He is enormously talented, and makes it all look easy. You've heard of "scary fast"? This is what it looks like.

Todd Barnhill, aka "Superman", is the President of BTI, Inc., a tooling company in Santee, CA. He's also a very familiar and respected figure in District 38 racing. Todd started running races wearing a red cape with a big "S" on it sometime ago as a kind of a gag, and the whole thing just sort of stuck. Well, when you're over 40, wear a red cape while you're racing and call yourself "Superman", you'd better be ready to deal with the laughter or to make people believe it. The cape still gets a chuckle, but with those number plates, no one is laughing AT it.

Current Women's Champ Weishin Woltz, 464L, from Poway, received her graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from SDSU last May. She started racing District 38 in 2008, and won the Ladies Class championship in '09. Her passion for the sport and includes MX as well as the desert, and she proudly supports Racers for Christ.

She's not just "fast for a girl", either; she's just plain fast, as a lot of the guys she races with are very much aware.
